Sometimes, pet owners have a hard time determining when something their pet is experiencing warrants emergency care or a routine veterinary appointment. First of all, understand that it is always better to be safe than sorry and never a bad idea to call our veterinarian and ask for guidance. If we believe your pet's symptoms to be an emergency, we will advise you to bring your pet into our office as soon as possible. By calling our vet and asking for guidance, at least you can enjoy additional peace of mind.

Unfortunately, another relatively common emergency we see in our office is that of a pet who has been struck by a vehicle. Some of the injuries pets sustain from being struck by a car include:
If your pet is struck by a vehicle, we always recommend that you bring them in to see our vet as soon as possible. Even if they don't have any obvious signs of a medical issue, they could be suffering from non-visible injuries such as internal bleeding.
We offer a wide range of emergency services in our office, including treatment for toxin ingestion, foreign object ingestion, and injuries related to being struck by a vehicle or other serious trauma. Some other instances in which we would recommend seeking emergency care for your pet include:
